Our first Easter with Radley! Saturday we decided to take Radley over to the city "Easter Egg Hunt". It turned out to be more like an Easter Egg Football game. We go to the park just to hear someone counting down from 10 on a bullhorn. We ran up to the "line" where at least 300 hundred kids were crouched in a sprinter-like stance.
By the time the announcer called "one" we were nearly trampled by eager easter eggers on all sides. Mom hung Radley low to the ground as she tried to stay ahead of the crowd, while hoping Radley would scoop up eggs. Another 10 seconds passed and we found ourselves in the middle of a eggless soccer field clinging to one single egg, all the while boxing out creeeping kids. We later learned there were lanes for the different age groups and we had stumbled into the oldest kids' line. We then spotted a roped off area labeled "special needs". We figured Radley's inability to walk or talk qualified him. So we slipped under the flimsy barrier and were showered with eggs by the attending event worker. She assured us Radley was allowed there and then proceeded to pile eggs around Rad. The video below shows Radley in "special needs" aciton. He also go to pet little baby chicks and even a real life easter bunny. On Sunday we put on our 'pasteliest' outfits (yes, Dad's idea) and went off to an enjoyable church service to celebrate the real reason for the season, Our Lord Jesus Christ's Resurrection.
We are truly thankful for all of our blessings, especially the incomprehensible atonement and resurrection of our Savior. We hope all of you had a wonderful Easter weekend and wish you the best this spring.
